Woodend Eagles Soccer Club play in the Football Victoria Greater Bendigo League. This age group caterers for kids in the next stage of their football progression. Generally they have been through the non-competitive seasons but there are still many Under’s 12’s and older just starting team play for the first time. 

The pitches are larger than non-competitive and the the two halves are slightly longer

• U12: 9v9, 2×30 minute halves (half pitch)
• U14: 11v11, 2×35 minute halves (full size pitch)

The junior competition is played under FIFA Laws of the Game with modified rules to assist players in their development and also refine the transition to 11v11 football. Red or Yellow cards are introduced and the off-side rule comes into effect with this age group.

Our coaching style remains the same, encouraging players to enjoy the game and play for each other… but now with a little more competitive spirit.

• Training is on Wednesday nights 6.30-7.30PM (TBC)
• Coaches focus on teamwork, tactics and match awareness
• Positions are more fixed and developed
• Match days are Saturdays (generally mornings)
• Games are played throughout the region from Woodend up to Northern Bendigo
• Car pooling is encouraged
• Parents are also encouraged to join in and help manage teams and refreshments

Fees include club and team registrations, club uniform (x1), insurance through Football Victoria, referees fees, training equipment, match day equipment, match balls, goals, ground painting, lighting and utilities costs, and contributions to club events and initiatives. Players need to supply their own boots and shinguards.

All teams are either girls and mixed teams. Allocation of players is determined by how old the player is on the 31 December, the year prior to the season.

Age eligibility for teams we are fielding in 2026:

• U12 – born 2015 (or slightly later depending on experience)
• U14 – born 2013 (or slightly later depending on experience)
