Woodend Soccer Club has been selected to take part in the Daughters & Dads Football Program, in partnership with Melbourne Victory FC and supported by the University of Newcastle.

Designed for primary school-aged girls and their dads/father figures, this 8-week program uses football to strengthen relationships, build girls’ confidence and football skills, and challenge gender and cultural barriers that can impact girls’ participation in sport. The program also aims to support clubs to strengthen their female football pathways and engage new families within their local communities.

MVFC Support

Throughout the program, Melbourne Victory FC will provide ongoing support, including:

  • MVFC staff attending three of the eight program sessions
  • Tickets to a selected Melbourne Victory match for everyone involved in the program
  • An opportunity for participants to take part in a half-time Small-Sided Game
  • Additional program goodies and participant experiences along the way
